We only use products approved for food contact.
For impregnating and finishing the surfaces of boards and kitchen accessories, we use products from well-known manufacturers, such as the Polish brand of oils Filips oils, or foreign manufacturers such as Odies Oil. In many of our projects, we use our own production oil-wax, which we prepare based on mineral oil (certified CAS number: 8042-47-5) and natural filtered beeswax obtained directly from domestic apiaries.
For boards that require a gluing process (e.g., end grain boards), we use products from the brand Titebond.
Spoina Titebond Ultimate III which is single-component, waterproof, and does not react with food. It meets the requirements for food contact: FDA 21 CFR 175.105 (e.g., gluing cutting boards).
We mostly use wood characteristic of our geographic region.
Oak, walnut, ash, and beech - you will find these species in our projects.
Solid wood products are durable, but to ensure they serve you for as long as possible and maintain their proper condition, we should follow a few simple rules.
Below are a few of them (according to us, the most important tips).
Recommendations:
- After use, wash the board under running, lukewarm water. You can use a sponge or your own hand for washing.
- After washing, leave it to dry or wipe it dry with a soft cloth or paper towel.
- If the board is heavily soiled or has been used for cutting meat or fish, you can use liquid dish detergents, but in small amounts!
- After use, rinse the board under a stream of running water and wipe it with a paper towel.
Contraindications:
– Pamiętaj by nie namaczać deski w wodzie > zbyt długi pobyt pod wodą wpłynie na wypaczenie lub pękanie drewna.
- Do not wash the board in the dishwasher!
– Nie stosuj mocnej chemii do mycia deski > zastosowanie mocnej chemii spowoduje wypłukanie warstw oleju oraz może wpłynąć na przebarwienia drewna.
- Avoid direct contact with a heat source such as a gas stove, heating elements, or open flame.
– Po umyciu nie wystawiaj deski na bezpośredni kontakt ze słońcem > a niech sobie wyschnie spokojnie w zacienionym miejscu ;).
- Do not place hot pots, pans, jars, etc., directly on the board. This may cause stains that are difficult to remove.
